In summer: time for mountain climbing or walking. For the more audacious - high mountain itineraries and our 4000m summits. Families could say hello to our famous cows ‘The Herens Breed’ – a very proud race - whilst walking along mountain tracks on a day out. Or make the most of walkways alongside a ‘bisse’ (ancient water irrigation channels). And why not take a leap from one of our summits and paraglide down to Geronde Lake for a cool dip.
In winter: skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing reign. In the peace and quiet of the mountains, snowshoe and walking amateurs can forget the stress of everyday life and let themselves be enraptured by the serenity of the surroundings. Unless of course you prefer to benefit from our 50km of beaten tracks and pathways which wind their way through and around the snow-covered vineyards in the plain.
In every season, behind their sun-darkened walls, the characteristic villages of the Val d’Anniviers have a vast choice of lodgings and catering. Elegant wines, local dishes or gastronomical menus: a fantastic choice for everyone’s taste and budget.
